Welcome address

It is indeed my privilege to take over as the Provost and Dean of the School of Business Management, NMIMS. I have nearly a decade old relationship with the School, beginning in 2008 when I had joined in the position of Dean at the School. Over the years, from outside, I have witnessed major transformation in the School. The SBM of NMIMS has been and continues to be a significant contributor to the economy and the corporate sector in India through management education and research. At SBM, we are a proud family with accumulated expertise and insights, which help us create leadership capable of taking managerial excellence to the new heights.

We are on the cusp of major disruptions and technological advancements. Many companies are confronting new market realities, full of uncertainty, and they are looking for our leadership. Today, times are difficult for many business models. Ensuring that companies take maximum advantage of digital gains requires new strategies. Ensuring companies meet stakeholder expectations require new leadership insights, requiring a paradigm shift in thinking and out of the box interventions. Future times will demand that we learn a new language of taking bold steps.

This is an important time for all of us, for the SBM, for the management academia in India and the world and we at the SBM must lead it as a leader in the management education. I look forward to working together with our society members, faculty, students, staff, alumni, corporates and all well-wishers to harness the energy and dedication that drives every member of our NMIMS community. I am sure together we will move forward the SBM’s collective work to contribute to the managerial leadership and excellence in the world.
