WEEKEND FAMILY MANAGED BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAMME (FMBA)
A unique tailor-made week-end, one year Management Programme for owner-entrepreneurs and their family members who would like to equip themselves with the knowledge of modern management concepts and practices. This knowledge will enable them to meet the new age challenges and seize emerging business opportunities. The week-end structure of the programme ideally suits those who are already involved in the running of their family businesses. The FMBA Programme trains the students to act as CHANGE AGENTS for their family businesses, where two or more generations work together.
Programme Design
This tailor-made programme, with a holistic curriculum includes functional areas of professional management, communication skills, customer & supplier relations management, professionalizing family business management etc. that greatly enhances the participants’ effectiveness as Owner- Managers to initiate and lead the growth process
Faculty
Highly qualified faculty with rich experience of working in business and industry. They tailor-make their presentations and also interact with the students on one-to-one basis.
Programme Objectives
This pioneering initiative of SVKM's NMIMS School of Business Management - Pravin Dalal Centre for Entrepreneurship & Family Business Management, aims at facilitating transition from traditional to contemporary management practices in Family- Managed SME’s. The objective of the program is to equip members of business families with the knowledge of modern management concepts & practices.

Semester – I (Mid-Aug. – Mid-Dec.)
Module 1
CHALLENGES OF THE NEW BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT AND WHAT OWNER – ENTREPRENEURS NEED TO DO.
Assignment
Students to submit a Position paper on the history and growth of their family businesses as per guidelines provided by faculty.
Module 2
DEVELOPING COMPETENCIES THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING OF FOLLOWING FUNCTIONAL AREAS
Assignment
Three assignments on General Management, Marketing Management and Operations, Supply Chain and supplier relations management to be submitted.

Classes are held on Week-ends as under:
Eligibility
A Graduate Degree from a recognized University or a three year Post – HSC Diploma in any discipline from a UGC recognized Institute / University with a good post – education business experience.
Award of Diploma
To earn their Diploma, students must attend classes regularly and punctually, complete & submit all assignments on time, including the Compulsory Project on their own Family Business.
FAILURE OR DEFICIENCY ON THESE COUNTS WILL MAKE A PARTICIPANT INELIGIBLE FOR THE DIPLOMA.
