On behalf of the members of the Faculty, Staff, and Administration of the NMIMS University, it is with pleasure that I extend the heartiest welcome to you to explore our University.
The mission of all our programs is to prepare our students to be life-long learners. The valuable contribution of our faculty towards the generation of knowledge, their dedication to providing par excellence learning eco-system, delivery of quality teaching, thoughtful mentoring ensure the future success of our students. Our ability to attract quality faculty members has stood us in good stead in our search for excellence and emerging as an outstanding center for learning.
The exceptional vision of our Chancellor Shri Amrish Patel and his outstanding leadership has helped the University to implement the strategic agenda focused on realizing the ambitious goals. The guidance provided by him has laid down the roadmap of comprehensive initiatives aiming at elevating every aspect of the University. In the last four decades, NMIMS has transformed from a management school to a multidisciplinary and multi-campus University. The University, having started its journey in 1981, today proudly encompasses a vast array of programs ranging from engineering and pharmacy, to biological sciences, law, performing arts, design, and aviation, besides the management programs.
While we continue to strengthen the new schools and programs, our schools have been globally recognized. In terms of accreditation and international recognition, the business school has joined the league of the top five percent of the business schools in the world after receiving the AACSB accreditation. Our Bengaluru and Hyderabad campuses are the youngest institutions to have AMBA accreditation. With continuing efforts, NMIMS has grown significantly in terms of its credibility as one of the outstanding education destinations in India.
Several defining factors set the NMIMS University apart. The NMIMS is proud of having a unique industry partnership model that recognizes the role of the industry beyond the recruiter. The industry today is a part of institution governance, student selection process, program design and delivery, and also faculty research. Their contribution makes our students job-ready and guides them in their career goal paths. NMIMS has also co-invested with industry in establishing specialized research and training centers. Further, NMIMS focuses on the development of cognitive, interpersonal, and execution skills besides strengthening the foundations of the learner. The consequence of this has been an outstanding placement track record.
We benchmark our programs and processes with the best in class and continue to endeavour to outperform our targets. For us, excellence is a journey and not a destination.
NMIMS also believes that it has a role in the transformation of society. It is with this perspective that our campus at Shirpur offers diploma courses in textiles for the local tribal population. The programs cater to first-generation learners in their families. In the last decade, the students of this program have been placed in the textile industry in India. This has led to the transformation of families and a whole generation. Also, our students today engage themselves in several civic and societal issues through social responsibility forums and the Jasani Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Management. Over the last decade, through the WeCare Program, we observe a transformation occurring in our students towards becoming socially responsive than they are when they join the NMIMS University.
It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the NMIMS University at this extraordinary juncture in its history. These are challenging times for higher education and our world. We remain committed to grow and succeed in our mission to educate students, create knowledge, and provide service to our community. We are today a growing community of scholars with a dream to become a globally admired institution by 2030.
