  • Dr. Ashu Sharma and Dr. Darshan Pandy submitted a proposal to the British Council prior to July 24th. The proposal aimed to develop the course titled "Industry 4.0 – A Collaborative Course Development for a Sustainable Future" in partnership with Aston Business School, Aston University, Birmingham, as the UK partner, and Siemens Ltd. as the industry partner. The funding for the project, amounting to 42 lakh, was provided by the British Council.
  • SBM Mumbai and the School of Law in Bangalore, in collaboration with Boston University School of Law, were honored to host the International Conference titled "Emerging Global Dimensions of Human Rights in the Contemporary Era" on July 21st, 2023. Professor Rebecca Pendleton, Faculty Director at Boston University School of Law, delivered a keynote address during the event, sharing her insightful perspectives on the importance of academic inquiry into the evolving aspects of human rights.
  • Dr. Mayank Joshipura and Dr. Chandrima Sikdar organized research seminars, meetings, and various academic initiatives aimed at fostering partnership development between NMIMS and the Adelaide Business School at the University of Adelaide, Australia.
  • A meeting was held involving the Vice Chancellor of NMIMS, SBM faculty members, and JK Aier, who serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Global Engagement at George Mason University School of Business in Virginia. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential future collaborations.
  • Dr. Mayank Joshipura convened a meeting with Prof. Jennifer Grafton, Associate Dean of Global Engagement at the Faculty of Business and Economics, from The University of Melbourne Business School, to discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
  • Ms. Meena Saxena facilitated a delegation from Essex Business School during their visit to NMIMS Mumbai and ESSEC Business School, France on November 20th, 2023. As part of their visit, they engaged in a meeting with Dr. Veena Vora, Professor of Human Resources and Behavioral Science, SBM, Prof. Binesh Nair, Assistant Professor specializing in Decision Science & Analytics, and Dr. Akshay G Khanzode, Assistant Professor focusing on Operations, SBM. The objective of the meeting was to explore collaboration opportunities with SBM, including the proposed 1+1 Dual degree program.
  • Ms. Meena Saxena facilitated discussions with the International Linkages team from the University of Exeter, UK. On October 5, 2023, a Progression Agreement was signed between the University of Exeter and NMIMS Deemed-to-be-University. This agreement will allow NMIMS students the opportunity to advance to Exeter to pursue and receive a Postgraduate Master’s Degree upon completing their studies at NMIMS.
  • In November 2023, Prof. Noel Lindsay, Dean of Business at the Adelaide Business School and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Entrepreneurship) at the University of Adelaide, visited NMIMS Mumbai. The purpose of his visit was to convene meetings with academics from SVKM’s NMIMS School of Business Management and other educational institutions, as well as to engage with recruitment agents for higher education students. The agenda of the meetings centered around discussions on institutional collaboration between SBM-NMIMS Mumbai and the Adelaide Business School. This collaboration includes initiatives such as research and teaching exchanges, funding support for joint research projects, organizing guest lectures, and facilitating support for international placements. These efforts are aimed at enhancing academic enrichment for the mutual benefit of both institutions.
  • Dr. Hema Bajaj, serving as the Area Chair for HR and Behavioral Science and Programme Chair for MBA Human Resources, extended an invitation to Dr. Pawan Budhwar, who holds the position of Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor International at Aston University, UK, to become a member of the Board of Studies (BoS) for the HR and Behavioral Sciences area.
  • Ms. Meena Saxena facilitated a visit by Prof. Kalpesh Desai, who serves as the Chair of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, and is a Professor of Marketing at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management, University of Missouri, Kansas City, to the NMIMS School of Business campus in Mumbai.
  • Dr. Veena Vohra from SBM conducted the Inaugural Meeting of the International Advisory Board online on November 21st, 2023. The agenda for the meeting included:
    • Providing an overview of NMIMS University and the School of Business Management, as well as introductions of the board members.
    • Presenting the vision, strategy, and the role of the International Advisory Board at SBM.
    • Engaging in discussions on themes such as curricular enhancement and internationalization best practices.
    • Exploring pathways of collaboration and innovation for Indian business schools.
  • Professor Papiya De took part in the 2023-24 of the X-Culture project.The X-Culture project is a large-scale experiential learning exercise designed to provide students with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in international virtual collaboration. A total of 6,389 students from 140 universities in 73 countries on six continents participated in the project this semester. They worked in 1,289 global virtual teams, each comprising about 6 team members, each in a different country.
  • Dr. Veena Vohra has actively contributed to the academic and research communities, serving as a reviewer for prestigious platforms such as the Academy of Management, USA, for the Annual AOM Conferences, as well as renowned journals like the Journal of Management, Spirituality & Religion, Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance, IIMB Management Review, Business Perspectives and Research, Journal of Asian Business & Management, Organizations and Markets in Emerging Economies, South Asian Journal of Business Studies, Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration, International Journal of Business Governance and Ethics, California Management Review (CMR), Journal of Small Business Management, Management Decision, and Frontiers in Psychology. In addition, she has been empanelled as a thesis reviewer for the College of Business at Abu Dhabi University, further emphasizing her commitment to academic excellence.
  • Dr. Sayantan Khanra has made significant contributions to the academic and editorial landscape, notably as a dedicated reviewer for esteemed journals including Enterprise Information Systems, Electronic Commerce Research, Journal of Business Research, Technology Analysis and Strategic Management, Digital Policy, Regulation and Governance, and Transforming Government: People, Process and Policy since 2021. His commitment extends to editorial roles, as he serves as an editor for the book "Machine Learning for Business Analytics: Real-Time Data Analysis for Decision-Making" published by Taylor & Francis Group, New York, commencing from 21st July 2022. Sayantan Khanra's multifaceted engagement underscores his dedication to scholarly pursuits and academic advancement.
  • Dr. Siby Abraham, serving as a Member of the Editorial Board for the "International Journal of Advances in Intelligent Systems." Her commitment to scholarly engagement extends to her role as a Member of the Scientific Committee and Advisory Board for the "Annals of Faculty of Engineering Hunedoara, Romania – International Journal of Engineering" since 2013. These affiliations reflect her dedication to advancing the field of engineering and intelligent systems.
  • International Linkages Office created an application for a seed funding partnership grant, that has successfully funded AUD 9,900 for Adelaide travel for the NMIMS faculty.
  • International Linkages office took the initiative in establishing a partnership with Chevening Scholarship to establish a grant of a Fully funded one-year Master’s degree in any UK University and Fully funded fellowships awarded to mid-career professionals.
  • Dr. Amita Shivhare (SBM), collaborated with Dr. Debjani Ghosh from the University of Texas, and Dr. Martin Buss from the University of Potsdam, Germany on a paper titled "Does Contingent Reward Leadership Enhance or Diminish Team Creativity? It Depends on Leader (Un-) Predictability," published in the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies.
  • Dr. Mayank Joshipura (SBM), collaborated on a paper with Dr. Khakan Najaf from Monash University, Malaysia, Dr. Muneer Alshater from Philadelphia University, Jordan, paper titled "War build-up and stock returns: Evidence from Russian and Ukrainian stock markets." This paper, published in the Journal of Risk Finance, demonstrates the interdisciplinary nature of collaborative research, with a focus on the financial implications of geopolitical events.
  • Dr. Rose Antony (SBM), Dr. Mahak Sharma, and Dr. Konstantinos Tsagarakis from the Technical University of Crete, Greece. Their research, published in the Annals of Operations Research, explores "Green, resilient, agile, and sustainable fresh food supply chain enablers" with a specific emphasis on evidence from India. This study reflects a commitment to addressing global challenges such as sustainability and resilience in the food supply chain.
  • Dr. Sayantan Khanra (SBM) and Ms. Muneza Kagzi from T A Pai Management Institute, along with Dr. Sanjoy Paul from UTS Business School, University of Technology Sydney, have collaborated on a forthcoming publication titled "Machine learning for sustainable development: leveraging technology for a greener future." This research, accepted in the Journal of Systems and Information Technology, underscores the role of technology in advancing sustainable development goals.
  • Dr. Siby Abraham explored the subject of "Composing Music by Machine Using Particle Swarm Optimization" in the context of possibilities and challenges in Computer Assisted Music and Dramatics. This research is part of the "Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing" series published by Springer/MIT Press, (June 2023).

  • The School of Business Management in association with Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute (SICI) conducted a virtual lecture series on the theme: ‘AI for public health: Potential and Challenges in low resource settings’ on February 27th - 28th, 2023. The medium of communication was the Zoom platform. The lecture series primarily aimed to bring a multi-stakeholder perspective to the topic by examining different cases, opportunities, and challenges faced in the application of AI in public health from an implementation research standpoint, in both India and Canada. The excellent line-up of speakers had representation from research, academia, and industry, shedding light on public and private spaces in the healthcare system, in both India and Canada. This lecture series was part of the Shastri Conference & Lecture Series Grant (SCLSG), awarded to Professor Binesh Nair and Dr. Subramania Raju Rajasulochana by SICI.
  • Dr. Anupam Rastogi consistently contributes articles to the Liverpool Investment Letter, a publication by the Liverpool Research Group in Macroeconomics at The Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, United Kingdom. This collection of articles shows his dedicated scholarly efforts, underscoring his influential role in the international research community.
  • School of Business Management (SBM) hosted an annual National Case Study Competition. Having successfully hosted this event for several years, we broadened our reach and welcome international participation. For this, we reached out to The Association of Commonwealth Universities, London, United Kingdom to share the participation invitation to member universities across 50 Commonwealth countries, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the UK, and Asia
  • NMIMS 7th International TechForum Case Study Competition, hosted by the SummIT I School of Business Management, is a premier platform for global collaboration in technology and business management. Judged by Dr. Hamed Aghakhani, Associate Professor of Marketing at Dalhousie University, the competition features three key rounds. Round 1 involves submitting executive summaries by December 25, promoting concise communication and global perspectives. Round 2, from January 2 to January 12, 2024, allows selected teams to submit detailed cases with mentoring from professors and industry professionals. The finale on January 21, 2024, showcases the top teams globally, fostering inclusivity in international collaboration and exemplifying cross-cultural engagement. The competition symbolizes a dedication to international initiatives, providing a platform for diverse talents to address global challenges and cultivate future leaders in technology and business management.
  • Dr. Divakar Kamath – Professor of Practice was invited by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) to a roundtable discussion with the high-level US delegates of the World Trade Centre (WTC), Utah’s Trade Mission 2024 on 29 th February, 2024. The theme of the panel discussion was centred around exploring the vast untapped potential for trade, investment, technology and education in both the countries. Some of the high- level US delegates who participated in this roundtable in Mumbai included Gary Herbert – Former Governor, State of Utah, Jonathan Freedman – CEO & President – WTC, Greg Hill – CAO, University of Utah and Derek Miller - President Salt Lake, Chamber of Commerce.
  • Dr. Rose Antony/ Dr. Sayantan Khanra, attended a professional development program on Circular Economy, organized by University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia on 21 st February 2024.
  • Dr. Subramania Raju Rajasulochana, attended Economics, Public Policy, and Geopolitics Workshop for Mid-Career Women, on 20 th February 2024 organised by the Australian Consulate-General in Mumbai.
  • SBM hosted the Faculty Development in International Business programme on 5th January 2024. It was a collaboration between Florida International University and BYU CIBER Grants. An international delegation from acclaimed universities and academic partners of NMIMS SBM from the US graced the occasion with the perspective of sharing insights on how business organisations in India navigate their environments in the context of myriad challenges. The delegation led by Dr. Sumit Kundu, Professor and Eminent Scholar Chair in International Business College of Business at Florida, Florida International University, included eminent academicians and faculty members from top universities, namely, Brigham Young University, Broward College, Salt Lake Community College, Polk State College, San Diego State University (SDSU), University of Alberta, Bethune-Cookman University, Salisbury University, Webster University and the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
  • The Department of International Linkages at NMIMS University recently organized a comprehensive training program integral to the Erasmus+ Harmony CBHE Project on 11 th January 2024. The initiative aimed to empower NMIMS faculty and staff associated with internationalization efforts. The program focused on providing crucial insights into understanding NMIMS's international mobility programs for faculty and research, with a specific emphasis on enhancing the capabilities of International Relations Offices across various NMIMS schools and campuses.
  • Ms. Meena Saxena participated in a Short-term Virtual Workshop titled 'Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management,' which was organized by The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. The workshop commenced on 4 th November, 2023, and spanned 12 weeks, featuring instruction from the faculty of IIT Kanpur.
  • In January 2023, Dr. Hema Gwalani successfully finished an online certificate program on 'Sustainable Investing' offered by Harvard Business School.
  • Ms. Meena Saxena met with Anthony Bailey, Vice President for Strategic and Global Initiatives & Dean Bovard College. This meeting resulted in NMIMS’s three-year graduates from Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics & Anil Surendra Modi School of Commerce being eligible to apply to any of USC Dornsife’s graduate programs. Highest ranked University to make this offer to NMIMS graduates of SOC & SOE.
  • International Linkages Office organized the G20 Round Table, focusing on the theme "Advancing Global Progress through Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)." The primary goal of the Round Table is to present discussions and recommend actionable initiatives to the G20 presidency on the following topics:
    • The role of HEIs in fostering knowledge creation, fostering critical thinking, and developing solutions for complex challenges.
    • The importance of international collaboration in improving global conditions through higher education and innovation.
  • International Linkages Office organized a Study Abroad Education Fair that included participation from over 45 universities across six countries: USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Scotland, Italy, and more.
  • International Linkages Office organized a Training Program for faculty and staff involved in internationalization efforts, featuring Aditya Malkani, Regional Director APAC, and Prof. Tarun Sen from VT USA (VT Partnership). This program aims to provide comprehensive coverage of the diverse international opportunities available at NMIMS for both faculty and students.
  • Dr. Madhavi Gokhale moderated a seminar by Dr Gary Bowman- MBA Program Director from the University of Adelaide on "Sharing insights and information on the strengths and challenges of the program.
  • Dr Veena Vohra moderated a Panel Discussion on Innovations in Online Learning and Industry Academia Collaborations, during the Conference on Strengthening U.S. – India Higher Education Collaborations. This was organized by Institute of International Education (IIE) working closely with the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai, bringing together leaders from 17 U.S. Universities and Indian higher education institutions. IIE partnered with NMIMS University for hosting the conference at the NMIMS campus on Wednesday 28 February, 2024.

  • Dr. Siby Abraham was invited as a Scientific Chair at the 20th Workshop on Natural Computing and Applications in the SYNASC 2023 framework and the 25th International Symposium on Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing, held from September 11 to 14, 2023. He attended the event virtually. The event was organized by LORIA in Nancy, France, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science at the West University of Timisoara, Romania, and the Research Institute e-Austria, Timisoara, Romania, highlighting the international collaborations.
